Driven by Story, the production arm

Shot for what happens
after the shoot.

The first thing I want to know is where these images are going to live. A website header, a sponsor deck, forty posts across a slow winter. The answer changes what I point the camera at on the day.

  • Festivals and car shows
  • Conferences
  • Brand libraries
  • Reels and short commercials
  • Tourism campaigns
  • Recap edits

What gets made

The three jobs that come up most.

A cream classic Cadillac lit up in a burnout at the center of a closed street, tire smoke towering over the roofline while a crowd watches from behind barricades and a drone hovers overhead.

Event coverage

Festivals, car shows, conferences, tourism events, community programs, fundraisers. I shoot the thing that happened and the thing you can promote next year with it. Crowd, detail, atmosphere, sponsor signage in frame where it needs to be. Eight years of running the calendar and the events at a Route 66 drive-in sits behind how I read a crowd.

The open hood of a red Mercury Cougar at a car show, blue plug wires and polished chrome under the lid, the Cougar script badge sharp on the front fender.

Brand and commercial content

The people, the place, and the thing you actually sell. Photographs and short video built for a website, a listing, a campaign, or the eight posts somebody has to fill next month. Shot to a plan rather than to a mood board.

Three women in wide circle skirts, one printed with the Route 66 shield and one wearing a pageant sash, holding their skirts out on a closed downtown street.

Route 66 and tourism

Americana work for the Mother Road, centennial coverage, roadside culture, and destination campaigns. Four years of hired festival coverage behind it, and before that, eight years of my family running one of the landmark drive-ins on the road.

How a booking runs

From the first call to the files.

01

We talk

Fifteen minutes on the phone or a note through the form. What the event is, when the deadline falls, and what the images have to do once it is over.

02

You get it in writing

Scope, hours, deliverables, license and price on one page. You sign it and the date is yours.

03

I shoot it

I show up early, I know the shot list, and I stay out of the way of your event while getting the frames we agreed on.

04

You get files that work

Edited, color corrected, sized for web and print, in a gallery you can share. Fast batch first if you are posting live.

Rates

Where the numbers start.

What a job costs comes down to hours on site, what you get back, and where the images are allowed to run. These are the starting numbers. Tell me the job and I will put a real one in writing.

Questions people actually ask

Before you book.

How far will you travel?

There is an RV, a truck to pull it and a current passport, so the honest answer is far. Central Illinois is home for now and a lot of work still happens within a couple of hours of Springfield. Inside six months the plan is to be working from the road full time, Route 66 first, and after that from a boat following whale migration. Travel sits on its own line of the quote instead of buried in the day rate.

How fast do I get the images?

A working selection goes out within a week for most jobs. Festival and event coverage gets a faster first batch when you need something to post while the event is still happening, because a recap that lands three weeks late does not do much.

Can you shoot video as well as stills?

Yes. Reels, short commercials and behind the scenes footage, edited and delivered ready to post. Most brand jobs end up as a mix of both.

What if I do not know what I need yet?

Then start on the strategy side with a Start Here session for $60. Half the time a shoot list falls out of that conversation and we both stop guessing.
